The San Jose Multicultural Artists Guild (SJMAG)'s mission is to unite and serve communities by conducting cross-cultural arts programming reflective of the experiences of African-Americans, women and Chicano/Latinos. Incorporated in 1990, SJMAG is a resident arts organization at the Mexican Heritage Plaza.

Presenting Series
is a program annually produced by SJMAG to offer professional-quality productions of work by women, African-American, Latino and other multicultural playwrights and performing artists.

Community Performances and Workshops
serve adult audiences who would otherwise not have access to professional-quality arts experiences; these events take place at community centers and other venues throughout Santa Clara County in collaboration with culturally diverse professional and community service organizations.

Multicultural Arts Education Programs
introduce K through 12 youth to multicultural performing traditions. SJMAG's experiential after-school, weekend and summertime artist residencies employ emerging local artists of color to introduce low-income youth to a variety of culturally-specific art forms and to empower youth to originate and perform theatrical, dance and music productions drawn from their daily lives. SJMAG also conducts the Multicultural Youth Outreach Theater Project (MYOT), an extended after-school residency program that annually engages low-income multicultural youth in the development and performance of an original play addressing social issues.
